RABBI ARTHUR SEGAL: SEMINAR ON JEWS OF BLUFFTON,SC: HILTON HEAD ISLAND AREA
ANNOUNCEMENT RE ONE DAY SEMINAR ON JEWS OF BLUFFTON,SC (HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC AREA)

Shalom Chevra:

The below copy and pasted email is from the President of Bluffton, SC's Congregation Oseh Shalom, Mr. Al Reuben, announcing a one day seminar on the history of Bluffton SC Jewry and other 'Jewish-South' topics.

It is being held Sunday May 2, all day, at the Bluffton Public library, a new facility, and the cost is only 18$ including lunch.

Mr. Reuben is speaking as well as Oseh Shalom's Rabbi Robert Seigel. Both are excellent orators and have great command of their subject matters. Other speakers will be from the College of Charleston Jewish Studies program as well as from the SC Jewish Historical Society. And the long standing fantastic reputations of Dr Dale Rosengarten and Dr Adam Mendelson and President of the SCJHS, Ms. Ann Hellman, speak for themselves.

In addition to the above, what makes this even more attractive is that the Bluffton Library, is an easy 20 to 30 minute ride from the wonderful beach resorts of Hilton Head Island, SC, where Ellen and I are blessed to live. May 2 is considered off -season, yet the Island weather is wonderful. The SCJHS has also secured rooms at a reduced rate at a local Bluffton Hotel,'' the Holiday Inn Express at 35 Bluffton Road, Bluffton, SC 29910, Phone: (843) 757-2002 Fax: (843) 757-2425 , $79.95 / night (includes breakfast) ,Special rate available until April 23rd. You must make your own reservations. Use code JHS or ask for a room in the Jewish Historical Society room block.'' Hilton Head Island
