RABBI ARTHUR SEGAL; JEWISH SPIRITUAL RENEWAL: CHARLESTON'S NINE MARTYRS
 
These are the Photos of the Nine Martyrs who
 
 were murdered in domestic terrorism this
 
 Wednesday night, in Charleston SC, while in
 
 prayer and bible study in their Emanuel AME
 
 Church Charleston, SC . May their names be
 
 for an eternal blessing and memory. Rabbi
 
 Arthur Segal's Jewish Spiritual Renewal
 

Nine church-goers MURDERED in their Charleston Historic AME church last night. The Pastor? Yes, the Pastor. The State Senator? Yes the State Senator. Women? Yes, Women. Men? Yes, men. Children? We are not sure yet. How Long L!rd, How Long, will it be 'till we learn that Hate and Harm solves nothing, and LOVE always wins out in the long run? Ellen and I mourn these deaths, and the needless deaths of so many others. Hilton Head Island, South Carolina is our home, but Charleston SC ,less than 2 hours away, is our cultural home. Rabbi Arthur Segal's Jewish Spiritual Renewal

 

Rebbe Nachman's Prayer for Peace


Lord of Peace, Divine Ruler, to whom peace

 

belongs! 


Master of Peace, Creator of all things! 


May it be thy will to put an end to war and

 

bloodshed on earth, and to spread a great and

 

wonderful peace over the whole world, so that

 

 nation shall not lift up sword against nation,

 

neither shall they learn war anymore.


Help us and save us all, and let us cling tightly

 

 to the virtue of peace. Let there be a truly

 

great

 

peace between every person and their fellow,

 

and between

 

 husband and wife, and let there be no discord

 

between people even in their hearts.


Let us never shame any person on earth, great

 

or small. May it be granted unto us to fulfill

 

 Thy Commandment to "Love thy neighbor as

 

 thyself,"

 

with all our hearts and souls and bodies and

possessions.

 


And let it come to pass in our time as it is

 

 written, "And I will give peace in the land, and

 

 you shall

 

lie down and none shall make you afraid. I will

 

drive the wild beasts from the land, and

 

neither shall the sword go through your land.


God who is peace, bless us with peace !!!

''Blessed Eternal Master Whose dominion is

 

undivided and boundless, Master of this world

 

and all worlds, You are the King who reigns

 

over kings. In the introduction to this psalm

 

 we see Hashem depicted as the universal

 

Creator, the one and only Divine Power. By

 

extension we view all of G!d's creations as

 

being a part of us, connected to us through

 

 our one Father in heaven.

It is in this vein that we extend our thoughts

 

and prayers to the Emanuel AME Church

 

community and to the families of the victims

 

of the terrible tragedy that took place last

 

evening. For worshipers to be slain during a

 

prayer service is something that,

 

 unfortunately, we as members of the Jewish

 

 community are all too familiar with. We feel

 

 the pain of the entire Charleston community

 

and, in the aftermath of this devastating act of

 

 violence, we pledge to come closer together

 

and enhance the unity and brotherhood of all

 

of God's people.

When the prophet Isaiah speaks of the Temple

 

 in Jerusalem and, by extension, of all of our

 

 houses of worship, he proclaims that G!d's

 

house is a house of prayer for ALL nations

 

(Isaiah 56:7). The above Rabbi Nachman of

 

 Breslov's prayer for peace, is a small measure

 

 to express our desire for a future without

 

such a senseless acts of hatred. (R'.M.
